February Theme: Shine On!
Om Ravaye Namaha.
We greet and honor the one who shines, the radiant one, the one who causes change. Through contemplating you, may I understand my own radiance and ability to change what needs changing.
First Week’s Contemplation
Some days it’s rough out there in the outer world. Some days it’s rough in here, in the inner world. And still the sun shines… and so can you.
“It can feel foolish to pause and marvel at the stars when the world is burning. Or to find the world beautiful when you've known it to betray you. But wonder is a liberation practice. A reminder that we contain more than tragedy. Beauty is our origin." ~Black Liturgies
Shine on.
Second Week’s Contemplation
What if you had permission to shine your light? What if you knew that someone wished and hoped that for you?
“My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who you are. To astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness.” ~ Maya Angelou
Shine on.
Third Week’s Contemplation
What if seeing the light in another and knowing the light in yourself was a powerful and defiant act of peace in a seemingly broken world?
“I salute the life within your eyes, where the whole universe dwells. For when you are at that center within you, and I am that place within me, we shall be one." ~Crazy Horse, 1877
Shine on.
Fourth Week’s Contemplation
Close your eyes. Follow the light within. What if you’ve been shining all along?
Light Within
“Fear used to whisper, ‘Stay in the Shade,’
I dimmed my colours, afraid I’d fade.
Yet sunflowers don’t ask, they just glow,
Following light wherever it flows.
Now I hold the sun in my heart.
A quiet fire, a work of art.
No shadow can steal the warmth I bring,
I bloom, I rise, I am my own spring.” ~thesunflowerdreams, sourced from Pinterest
